This is an easy recipe for soft, chewy cookies.
It uses only 3 ingredients and is good for children and adults to make together.
These cookies do not contain flour, so they are gluten-free.
1 cup smooth peanut butter
3/4 cup white (granulated) sugar
1 large egg
Heat the oven
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Mix the ingredients
Put the peanut butter, sugar, and egg in a large bowl.
Mix them with a spatula until they are well combined and you have a thick dough.
Shape the cookies
Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 tablespoon each.
Put the balls on an ungreased baking sheet.
Flatten the cookies
Use a fork to press each ball down.
Press once, then turn the fork and press again to make a criss-cross pattern.
Bake
Bake the cookies for 10–12 minutes.
They are ready when the centers look set and the edges feel firm.
Cool
Leave the cookies on the baking sheet until they are completely cool.
They will become firmer as they cool.
When the cookies are cool, you can decorate them.
For example, you can add:
Colorful sprinkles
A light dusting of powdered sugar
